Full moon and walk in the park

Went on a walking tour through my little town in Playa del Rey, with the local conservationist - Robert Jan "Roy" van de Hoek. He filled us with stories of the Ruddy Turnstiles, the Pacific Loon and let us check out out lagoon with his spot scope. Impressively the moon was about as close as it ever has been to Earth, it made it far bigger and brighter in our night sky. NASA stated that the full moon was 30% brighter and far larger than any other full moon we are going to see in these 12 months.

The Earth’s next close encounter with a full moon is eight years away, on November 14, 2016.
