Skating along

There was a lot of commotion at the Culver City Ice Skating
rink today....turns out there was a competition and recital.

I saw photographers snapping away at the girls in brightly colored dresses...

so I turned in, to catch a glimpse.

Get your hair braided with ribbon...

No detail missed readying for
the performance.

Having your hair done, and
your costume chosen makes
for a delighting the crowd kind
of look.

Other amusements were the color coded paper trays at the copying store....

and where have all the pay phones gone......?

Just a memory.....we can reflect on.

This superman driven vehicle made me laugh.....if ever so slightly.

Grand way to travel...

Building has a long history...

Down the coast

and back in one day....

More to come...

Beau soleil

Everywhere you looked the beach was the place to be
Memorial Day weekend.

In the Golden state, pacific blues and sandy
shores were a welcome sight for the many who celebrated today.

More than just a rinse, these ladies got every speck of sand off....

While the cyclists sit in wait for conversation, or so I think.

This bridge doubles as a rendevous spot and a break point from their ride.

Cat Coffee Klatch and San Pedro

You just sometimes stop into well,
another world. This cat haven...or perhaps
heaven for those who visit.

Came across Jackie's Purrfect adoption spot
this Sunday morning...

Cages designed for spiffy tweens, not a
furball in sight...

Could it be that
Jackie provides
a little
shelter and a soft spot
for those who visit, with
donuts and a round of conversation.

I found it so amusing...
and warmed my heart really....

only in America.

San Pedro is a coastal city, with
lots of bridges, overlooking a hardscrabble
view. Charles Bukowski lived there for sometime.

Vintage clothing and a special
sale, in the grab pile - $1 per each.

Lots of signage
when you need some inspiration.

Frolicking in the pool...

Cars on parade.....

Cabrillo Beach, where crows swooped into the blustery wind.

A lot of folks here just want to let their freak flag fly and today
we're all proud to be Americans.
