Tress of Light

My friend makes trees...called Trees of Light (Treesoflight.com) and they are magnificent. They come in various combinations....larger ones, and some pretty mini ones. Far left is one made from a metal
can for a ice tea...terrific colors.

So let there be light in your world...we need to continue the good cheer!

Best to you in the New Year!

Christmas lights

In the upper reaches of Altadena, Christmas lights string up Santa Rosa Avenue.

Tradition had it that you were to 'motor' up the street without your headlights on...and it creates quite an amazing view...

SIgns along the way

NYC is a colorful town...people everywhere and lots of signs, looking for attention. Here are a few of the signs of life that I saw!

A man coming out of the MTA building near Madison Square Garden...POOP is an acrynom for
wait for it....
Yes, it is a dirty business and profitable too...I liked his brand of humor. Bold and smart!

I liked seeing Lady Liberty. However, it could have been a man standing tall in Times Square for justice and all things American.

This has a Christina Ricci quality to it...but she's been punked somehow, elfin ears perhaps?

More symbolism...a 3 D printer spits out The Big Apple....

A walking art piece...and the symbolic red backs to the famous shoes Sex in the City made (more) famous.

Well, it is fascinating what there is to look at...really fascinating.

NYC High Line

Always such a rush to be in NYC...but then there are the spots for seeing.

Commuting via subway is a snap...just get into the flow and your are places in a flash.

Made it to the NYC Highline - elevated railroad tracks now turned into a a promenade
with gardens and seating.

Delightful to hang in the winter sun...and watch the world go by.

California Missile Freakout

Well, lots of people saw it and commented on this...unusual to have missiles coming overhead...but is this forecasting things to come..

Drone mobile

Drones are here to stay...but they are further away from toys than societal menaces...wondering if
we can keep the airspace safe.

Downtown at night

This city is so vibrant at night...a bicyclist tears down through the busy streets.

Disney Hall with a partial moon...

And city transit moves all night it seems. Good for those who thrive by the dark and cool evenings.

Cinespia at the movies

Headed to The Hollywood Forever movies...got to see Animal House, but pre-show was full of grooves and interesting lighting. Cool, huh?!

Ashland- Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Sometimes the star attractions are hiding along the side of the road....

Off the beaten track, such as this lovely wander up through Lithia Park.

Oregon may be the land of the hyper conscious and only pockets of it really do something about it, like Ashland - a college town and home to a terrific theater scene.

Getting some Elizabethan theater background from one of the actors who leads a 'Backstage Tour' - come rain or shine, the show will go on.

And they do......

Meeting Nubians and watching them feast!

Meet a couple of swell goats....

Babette at the very top, gets some solo feeding as her peers - Shasta, Tablia will buck her for that food.

And Tablia below....showing some pearly whites, and looking inquisitively at me. Her pupils are extraordinarily large and it is said she has a peripheral vision of 270 degrees. The long hanging ears are particular to Numbians.  Tablia although smiling like a cheshire cat, can be quite deceiving because she will buck you at any given moment. Such behavior got her the "Alpha bitch" moniker.

So there, Tablia....here's to hanging a bit below the radar...and in the safety zone!
