Little kingdom.....babes, dolls & creatures

The little people have all the summer fun...

These two Briana and Adina, were having a fine time...

Double active

next in line for Doublemint girls.....

Things got a bit messed up - they got into the water a bit too deep - and made their Granny mad.

But they were born on xmas day....and am sure all was forgotten.

A stop at the Eco Station...

A rescue pound for the animals with negligent owners....

The parrots and McCaws
showed some post stress syndrome and plucked out their own feathers....

A sensitive lot.

Contemplative iguanas...never blinking, holding court.

A cat hides under the blanket

...seems perfectly normal to me...

Someone wants that fur.

Wondering fingers lure the sea creature...

Watermelon on everyone's lips...

Getting to see them from the child's viewpoint...is refreshing....and another delight of summer.

Pier view - Big Band and Squirrel Nut Zippers

The call to celebrate was out....

Santa Monica pier offers on Thursday nights the Twilight Dance series...

Tonight featured a big band/swing night with all feet on tap for it..

A quick stop for lemonade, and whirl by the carosel and the
night was full
of light, music and
motion.

Some steppers were more
adept at the moves....

It felt like one big wedding...

Everyone is happy to enjoy the evening...

It's also a revival of a bygone era....some flappers, some zoot suits, some spats....derbies
and snoods...the tapping feet took fanciful flight.

We're talking hot

Summer heat is flexing it's muscles and
pouring it on...

Careful hikers
bring their parasols....

Others look to shade-only.

Try explaining to the youth of today, that the great outdoors trumps a video game in a/c.

There's always the numbers game.

a respite at a local swell bistro...

Peaceful evenings after the sun goes roaring down....

or find a spot where a few sprinklers can give you a cool off...even if it's only supposed to be a trickle.
