Garden
This is a matilija poppy which took a year to grow - yay! Sometimes it is a good reminder to keep dry plants dry....and keep at it. Looks like an egg...and it's nickname is fried egg plant.
These were grown from seed from the Theodore Payne native garden center in a packet called blues and purples. So success on this one as well.

Los Angeles - Near Mount Washington
Some parts of Los Angeles are so incredibly beautiful especially in the winter....hard to believe there are rolling hills and such green mostly due to the recent rains.

The building had been an armory and had undergone a major renovation finished in Nov 2017.
The artifacts, art and pieces explore what life was like under repressive regimes. The art does prevail in reminding us of the great human spirit behind the veiled curtain.
