Vets and Arlington West

Life at the beach on a June Gloom kind of day....

But it  is unlikely that most beach goers celebrating Father's Day were thinking about those who have died in Iraq and Afganistan.

Santa Monica sets up a mass grave area where the over 6900 dead soldiers are commemorated there every Sunday. I had not seen the actual ceremony until then.

I saw them walk slowly in with caskets.

Each of the red grave markers represents 10 dead soldiers.

I am thankful that the Vets will keep under our guise a view of the devastation those wars have done to our country.Let's hope the days are few and the numbers far fewer in the remaining 18 months.

Surely there are Fathers buried too soon, and families suffering as a result of that loss this very day to celebrate their lives.
