Patti Smith was soulfully soothing.
Mix in a full moon and a rapturous crowd
The carnival atmosphere, along with ocean breezes was a most excellent escape hatch for all the adoring fans wanting to hear her songs from way back.
Not to mention get a gulp of fresh air and drift away from the the loads of heat (and smoke) that has been pervasive - free to those who just got there.
