Farm fresh and morning glory
It's a ritual and everyone I see seems
to relish going to the Farmer's Market.
It's time to stroll, peruse, and partake in samples of all sorts of wonderful food....
I heard talk of long unemployment, and
others talking of super fresh greens
and what they'd be cooking.
Little girls with names like Paloma
dressed up for the event with their
pals....ready to gear up in their red riders.
I like the site of morning glories.....
wild and so beautiful in the sun.

Back to where I am come from
It's easy to head for home on a no-traffic day,
all the people have gone on their Thanksgiving
breaks, it is just locals setting out to drive.
And while I like to be surrounded by a
serene environment for a great Thanksgiving
dinner, it occured to me that I really just
craved more home-spun choices.
And in an attempt to combine them both,
we cut away from the
well - appointed
servings, and made it towards some
more industrial strength fare.

Bless the weather
The winter light drops precipitously
and I speed on the bike to catch a glimpse
of the amazing skies.
I find them incredibly beautiful before and
after a rain, which for CA is breaking news.
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I have a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
And as for the blue tongue - we ate
blue tortilla chips in celebration
of Thanksgiving. And as new fangled
as blue chips are, they leave an
indelible impression.

Minimizing in a new cafe standards world
In my neck of the woods,
life continues to
perculate along.
I am amazed to
see so many
relics of a
bygone
era.
From the oldie but goldie
Post Office which
has 80's tunes blasting outta
the speakers, and never a
too terribly long line....
to Jessie,
the veteran
barber.
Just minutes
before, I had
observed the
one customer
in there....
and without
sounding
well totally un-pc,
this gentleman
must have been
a truly loyal
customer, as
he was fairly
follicly challenged.
