Hummer owner loves dogs!

Sometimes you see things so out of the ordinary in Los Angeles.

I was interested in who the owner was and I asked him why so many dogs...."Well, I love them!" and did he own these dogs....well, the bulldog "Yes, but the one in the back, that's my neighbor's dog."

Didn't ask about the cow horns but it's evident he drives with a fierce gang of protectors.

Driver beware!

Culver City Skaing Rink

A sign of the times is that this rink has been closed sadly.

 

It had lots of enthusiasts but not enough to keep it going.

All that remains is this iconic piece of sculpted fancy lady skater....and I  still enjoy seeing her stand despite the planned changeover to a wall climbing enterprise pending soon.

I spent a lot of my early years ice skating and delighting in the cool air, the speed with which one can go and the spins and (a few) jumps I could manage. It will always be a wonderful memory and fun zone.

Garden Wall

In this wonderful drought-fill city, you can come across the most beautiful plant arrangements - called a garden wall.

To all the small fry who get to see the city in all it's wonder....being tenderly carted through city blocks...

And the second best (make that first) loved part of city living DOGS...and the priviledge of walking them.

As the pups get a whole lot of TLC...

Tress of Light

My friend makes trees...called Trees of Light (Treesoflight.com) and they are magnificent. They come in various combinations....larger ones, and some pretty mini ones. Far left is one made from a metal
can for a ice tea...terrific colors.

So let there be light in your world...we need to continue the good cheer!

Christmas lights

 

In the upper reaches of Altadena, Christmas lights string up Santa Rosa Avenue.

 

Tradition had it that you were to 'motor' up the street without your headlights on...and it creates quite an amazing view...
