Earth Day - Day in the Life

We'd like to fancy ourselves earthlings as ready for anything.....

Particularly Californians...with our joie de vivre
and eco-sound ways of living

But there have been some dire warnings

Water, food and shelter are vulnerable

to sudden impact of unforeseen consequences.

So take that walk, run or ride....

We've reached May Day...even if it is April

Take heed further examination as to what we CAN DO is the way to proceed.

We put seedlings into paper mats....

and hope that science and

the indomitable spirit take hold -

to wit...

Be considerate of all living things.

Not a matter of mind over matter....

Incalculable forces at play....

the sunny side

It is not hard to spot the beauty
in the abundantly
colorful west coast.

From the Honeysuckle roadside to the

native poppy - an elfin charmer...and that dayglow orange gets me every time.

At the start of another turn, this little bed of color was so inviting. Icelandic poppies
with corals and pinks are the bomb...

...and I do stop to reflect and spot the tourist from the natives And I try to

smell the roses every chance I get....

It is a picture perfect day

and to be celebrated...

A few nice moments - Easter staycation

I'm happy visiting the local art offerings...and had a cool visit to the Hammer in Westwood.

The show "Darker Side of Lightness" had a great poster, and I saw a
doppleganger of lady liberty and another face.

Switch it around
and you see something else....

Glorious farmers market at the Vet's Garden - a serene place for
the war blasted

and I get a thrill
at seeing the bunnies there...
They are year round, but given
that it is Eastertime....well...more of the moment...

Saw that the new Annenberg SPACE for Photography had opened..and I was very excited to see what was there..Some new technologies available to view their library...and a wonderful round room for slide/video presentations.
They had cushioned round leather seating...for a communal feel.

Sidelined

Sometimes a little knock comes at the door
and someone says, "Time for you to sit it
out for a bit, we're going to fix this."

Doc said "Oh, that looks really angry, that
has to come out." So it did, my ancient organ
the gallbladder had to be removed.

Stay put, ice and pills will help this....

Felt like dirt, but dirt is fine.

That's where things grow....

A couple of days down, crawled out for some air.

Not a lot of spring in the walk...but I'm walkin'
it.

Found some lovely r&r during the staycation
right here at home....it's a destination spot.
