Halloween - boo!
A couple of days filled with pumpkin picking...
and dress ups in characters of the likes of Spidermen, Cinderella and the Terminator ...
Whether it be at Underwood Farms in Moorpark, CA
or an elementary school....
No shortage of pumpkins and imagination here....
May the spirit be with you....

Fog bound
"The fog creeps in on little cat feet"...
(Carl Sandberg)
and leaves you misty,
bogged down
wondering where it begins and ends...
A confab of government vehicles, red and poised for a slow up, down by the overhead.
But I like this quote...
The fog is like a cage without the key...(E. Wurtzel)
Who's getting out today....
It's the sun that breaks the routine.

Streisand's plunder
Barbra Streisand unloaded a bunch
of her 'excess' antiques....I took a looky loo and was amazed at the STUFF!
From a Stickley cabinet ($15K) to that Dirk Van Erp Lamp pictured left (went for $30K), and loads of long, movie star gowns and furry capes...baby grands, and lots of wicker lady loungers.
I took pix with my cellphone, but can't download them onto a Mac....
She put forth her collection as fundraising objects for her Foundation....
A nice mitsve...good deed indeed.

Upstairs by the Chinese Lantern - artwalk in Pasadena
Walking through the Pasadena Playhouse district,
open galleries and museums welcome art devotion
Lanterns buoyed in the sky
Celebrations at the Pacific Asian Museum
Red balls of color
framed in leaded windows...
ode to joy....
Umbrellas swirl
Man made fritti
Buddha by the by...
Pasadena Museum of California art with it's incredible collection of Wayne Thiebold's art, spanning a career of over 50 years.
Cake lovers feast on high-key colors.
Final descent through LA's profusely busy roads and freeways...
Dusky skies
an abundance of vapor lights......
and the snaking through of back lights...
Drop down into the green gully...
and home free...

LA County Fair - gastronomical & animal lovers paradise
A couple of days to the final closing of the LA County Fair....
Day was filled with
eye-popping
gastronomical
adventures...
walking shoes
fit for marching...
Atms are available....
Oil drenched food fantasy - deep fat fried avocados....
smokin' grills
What more could bacon need....ok, chocolate.
And did I really see
all that you can eat....
It's a one-stop eat all you can kind of day...
Fun in the fun zone.
loopy making.
I had an all time fav...
Mackinac Island Fudge
...quickly eaten.
Slides, aerial
views
Gargantuan serpents, puffed up Pikachus,
and Batman takes on Superman
South parked for monkey business
Families
embrace the
mother love
of the mama
pig,
ninnies, calves and
a panoply of piglets
Off to the races....squeals and thunderous applause....
Grand stand holds the food fair and prizes for luscious confections
and more monkey business.
Said S. from South Pasadena wins with her
marzipan cheese plate
and monkey cake.
Clydesdales are stationed in the cool tents..
Everybody is a winner here.
Get out and have your fun.
