Red fire sky

Heading out of the 103 degree heat, away from the out of control fires in LaCanada,

Gargantuan fire plumes combusts

and the sky beats red.

Volumes of smoke and particles are filling the air...

and Los Angeles warms in the glow.

Evacuations have started and I wish everyone safe travels.

Returning back in the morning....

but the evening glow is impossibly brilliant.

This car kind of spooks's the same one that the lone shooter drove in DC a few years back, killing military-style.

Can't shake it when I see one.

That and Raytheon make for quite a combo...

Cat sit

You get the feeling that cat sitting involves, well sitting.

Not the case.

Miss Emmaline gets a bit ancy sitting around and will take me on a walk-about. Her owners are well, in walk-about country, so it's only fitting.

Can't I just get in a bit of Julia? Yep.

She's skewering the heck out of this chicken....
oops, well roaster. Sez Julia - a young chicken with some
feel on the neck bone - aka cartilage.

Lines from urban settings....

but check twilight out....kinda cool!

Moving into the night - trees on the fly

Travel down the winding roads, down by Suicide Bridge....the trees flurry by.

The street lights turn on at dusk -

they mark
the time between darkness and the next.

Flew by Prospect Street again, and they were shooting some scene...I just opened the lens
and let the trees fly by.

Night steeped around a very bright white house...full of it's own flood of light.

Got goat

Saw this cool sculpture in downtown Pasadena....

Sorta stoic and sturdy

Better than scrawl....

Sun drawn days

August is the quintessential summer month....

long on sun, endless hours either enjoying beach breaks or semi-toiling.

Never mind that a day at the beach is just that....

This group ambitious to get to Knottsberry Farm....a lemonade stand is the

My answer was a cup of lemonade and a picture.

In Pasadena at their Post Office, I shot pix before I was summarily stopped with "This is a Federal can NOT take pictures."

Well, I did to a point, never uttering a word.

Saw the movie, "500 Days of Summer" which someone mentioned was a 'love note to Los Angeles,' as they filmed many architectural splendors downtown.

I am pretty sure that they filmed on Prospect Street in Pasadena, where 'Summer' had a vision.

These groupings of trees in color and black and white are my ode to that great film.

I've said it before....

I love hydrangeas...

I's bit much...

but I like it...and the colors wowed me....even if they are girly and not so posh...

Pink/Purple - my elementary school palatte

Trader Joes always does it can't walk through here without noticing them.

I didn't buy any...just mixed 'em up in house....and got my own screen bouquet~
